Dominique Hart is coming back well from a break in training with 52:17 just ahead of Rebecca Dixon in 54:52
In the Half Marathon Jayden Pendleton attributed his 1:20.32 to his work on the track at our Wednesday Night sessions. David Mizhari continues to break new personal bests today in the heat a 1:21.28 was impressive. Matt Dawson jumped into the Half as part of his long run in preparation for the Chicago Marathon cruising around the course in 1:23.07. The girls were also setting new PB’s in the Half with Gill Breen running 1:43.07 just ahead of Kate Fitzpatrick in 1:43 .23 and Jessica Harper in 1:44.48. Alex McCulloch ran a sneaky PB in 1:49.55, and our big inspiration Paul Feain added another half to the list with his 2:16.20 result today.
We had a small group of runners brave enough to take on the Marathon distance. Johnny Nesher again showed that he is the KING of the South African Lions running 2:49.21. Sabine D’Haeseeler ran a big 4:06.43. Things didn’t go quiet to plan for Alicia Hayes who had a rough day at the office with 4:20.22.
Special mention must go to husband and wife legends Glenn and Belinda Lockwood who crossed the line together in 5:25.24, this is more than 50 times that they have finished a race together and was the 207th run at Marathon plus distance for Glenn.
Last but not least Coach Woz put on his racing shoes to escort more than 20 Juniors from the Up And Running Squad across the Bridge for the 3.5km sprint in the Family Fun Run. The kids took out most of the top places in both the male and female list with the Coach winning his age group by more than two minutes in 13:48.
On today’s result we could almost rebrand ourselves The PB Run Squad! Well done everybody!
